For as long as I can remember I’ve been interested in politics. Throughout all of the interests i’ve had in life, politics has been the main one to stick. It was due to my interest in politics that I joined the Senn Journalism Program freshman year. I’ve been in the program for three years now and plan to follow it through to the end of senior year.
I pride myself in being able to look at a news story and get a lot more out of it than the average person. I can find the finer details in a story, contradictions being made, and how certain stories can connect to others.
I don’t know what it is about politics that interests me so much. Maybe it’s the great importance of it, or maybe it’s how never ending it is. Everyday there is something new to talk about.
I feel that it is very important to know about the major political issues going on in our country because knowledge is truly is power.
Though my views slant predominantly to the liberal side of the political spectrum, I am very much open to other viewpoints. No individual has the perfect answer. It takes several people coming together and sharing their ideas to form a resolution, that’s politics.
If someone disagrees with a point that I made, feel free to tell me about it, either in the comments or in person. I am all for having an open discussion and having a safe environment for all ideas to blossom.
