Review of the film: A Quiet Place
“If they hear you, they hunt you.” Imagine a mother speaking these words to her children, knowing that talking, crying, or screaming could cost them their lives.
“A Quiet Place” is a breathtaking movie made in 2018. The movie was written and directed by John Krasinski.
This movie is about a world that is taken over by noise sensitive monsters and a family that has to live in complete silence to stay alive. Living in silence on a daily basis is nearly impossible. They speak in sign language, everywhere the family walks the dad lays down sand so that way when they walk it won’t make any sound and they communicate with lights to indicate where it is and is not safe.
I really like the concept of how the movie is a silent movie and how a couple of words was said in the beginning and the rest was quiet barely any dialogue or sound. The mood of the movie is really intense throughout basically the whole movie, it really made me feel like I was a part of the movie, I and the others in the movie theatre were scared to talk because we thought we would get attacked! I’ve personally never seen a movie like this before; I think it’s unique.
The actors in the movie play their roles really good, amazing acting. The dad (John Krasinski) did a good job acting his part. I’m impressed considering the fact that he wrote, directed, and starred in the movie and still managed to play a part in the movie as well as he did. I barely see things like that. The other actors in the movie did really well too, especially the little kids. Everything from the way they act, down to facial expressions was great.
My favorite part of the movie is when the mom was giving birth. I thought that part was so intense because I already knew it wasn’t going to end well because babies cry loud when they are first born. Add the drama of the situation is when they give birth a screaming babies would appear and giving the fact that noise could cost them their lives that not going to end well on both sides.
Another part of the movie that was intense was when the family was walking down the bridge, and the little kid in the family picked up his toy helicopter and turned it on. It made an alarm sound and the dad had to run as fast as he can to him and turn it off before the monster got to him and that part was really good because the monster got so close to him. I thought that it was going to get it him. It had me grabbing on to my popcorn.
I would recommend this movie to everyone because I feel that everyone can watch it, there aren’t any drugs, bad language nor a lot of nudity. Although, I wouldn’t recommend to younger audiences like 10 years and younger because it is scary and there are some parts of the movie that are jump scares.
Overall this is a really good movie. This is the type of movie you can watch more than once and still enjoy it , I definitely would watch this movie again. A Lot of my friends have seen the movie too and they all liked it.
